The Heart Behind the Scenes
Every great rescue operation needs someone running base camp—and at Wasatch Technical Rescue, that someone is Paris. While she may not have a traditional rescue background (other than being married to Josh), she's become an indispensable part of everything we do.
Paris handles all the things that keep our training running smoothly: logistics, scheduling, student communications, and making sure everyone has what they need. She's the one making sure students stay warm during cold-weather training, fed during long days, and taken care of from registration to certification.
Behind every successful course is a mountain of behind-the-scenes work that most people never see—coordinating schedules, managing paperwork, answering questions, and solving problems before they become problems. Paris handles all of it with a smile (and usually a fresh pot of coffee).
When she's not keeping Wasatch Technical Rescue running, Paris is a devoted dog mom to Sparky, who has become something of an unofficial mascot around here. You might even spot them both at training events—Sparky providing moral support while Paris makes sure everything runs like clockwork.
What Paris Does
Student Care
Keeps students warm, fed, hydrated, and happy throughout training. Because rescue training is hard enough without being hungry.
Logistics
Coordinates schedules, manages registrations, handles communications, and keeps all the moving pieces organized.
Communications
Your first point of contact for questions, concerns, or just checking in. She makes sure no email goes unanswered.
Chief Sparky Officer
Full-time dog mom to Sparky, our unofficial mascot and morale booster. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.
Behind the Scenes

"I may not know how to tie a figure-eight on a bight, but I know how to make sure everyone has hot coffee and a warm meal after a long day of training. That's my kind of rescue."
— Paris Hicken
